gobblin's along the way
.... bah ha ha ha ha....ooooohhhh!
Remember to take your flashlight and
check your shoe strings so you

Whatever you do, don't be a scaredy cat...
it's all just for pretend and something to make us grin. :)
Just the two of us are looking forward to handing out candy to the little trick-or-treaters coming tonight. As we have been told that our 10 month old Gbaby Ben is going to be making a special stop to see us! I have prepared a little something for him when he comes, a huge bag full of goodies, way too big for him but all the more fun just the same! hehe!
So it's just the two of us hoping you had fun, watch out for the pumpkin and leave me a comment and tell me again what costume you wore, as it was surely one I knew I would adore, Happy Halloween!
An Angel Gets It's Wings
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Just the two of us painted for ten hours straight. We painted all the base boards and doors and replaced the mirrored closet doors. The place is looking like the doll house I remember it being. The only thing I have left now is to wallpaper one wall in the kitchen. whoo hoo, I am sure my angel is doing cartwheels right along side of me!
Wouldn't you know it, and perfect timing too, just when I am finishing up with the Townhouse rental property, my other tenants phoned and they actually turned on the heater last week during our cold spell of 50 degrees, and said the heater ran continually, and they didn't think the air worked that well either. Well, I really believe that sounds like a faulty thermostat, which is nothing much at all. Hopefully that is all it will be, otherwise, yikes! :)
Meanwhile, the funniest thing happened today. My hubby and I were just saying how the leaves from the Sycamore tree in the front yard were getting away from us and well, my hubby said a little prayer, cause we just need more time in the day. lol Ding-Dong, and Dennis answers the door, the gentleman says, "may we rake up a few bags of leaves, my wife needs them for a church project". Dennis says, "of course, laughing, take all you need". He gave us a business card and he is a Pastor with a church that is over an hour away. lol
So, it's just the two of us seeing a little ray of light at the end of the tunnel and hoping the next time your door bell rings, it is a little angel coming to make you smile. You know what they say, "Every time a bell rings, an Angel gets it's wings". :)
Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt ~ Safe

Just The Two of Us
...were thrilled when our good friends, invited us to fly up and
share a luxury condo with them in Washington DC.
While visiting the White House, our friend squeezed her bear,
Bert, through the rod iron gates in hopes of getting a picture of him
in front of the White House. We learned real quickly, just how safe
President Bush is, as the snipers on the roof took aimed at my friends
stuffed animal and before we knew it, armed security guards
were surrounding them and ordering them to bring the bear back through
to this side of the gate. lol
Just the two of us acted like we did not know them at that moment! hehe!
So it's
just the two of us hoping you stay safe and

Well, you probably noticed the name of the recipe exchange has changed to Favorite Ingredients Friday recipe exchange, allowing more than five ingredients, and that is because most of us that participate in the recipe exchange have measuring cups that are running dry, when it comes to new recipes with only five ingredients that haven't been used by other bloggers. So, hope you enjoy recipes with a few more ingredients but keeping it simple all the same. I know I am all for keeping it simple but am glad we are expanding the recipes while keeping it interesting too! lol This recipe just happens to still have only five ingredients, so enjoy!
Sending out a big *thank you* to

Looking Forward to the New Baby
Our little Grand Baby Ben, was all giggles and oodles of cuteness again at our dinner outing with the family. We are all such an animated bunch anyway, I always try to explain to others that we all love to tease and just keep it light for the most part. Renee, told me last night that our family is such a stark contrast from her family, and she really loves it, and it really touched me.
Today, after an appointment I have, I am going to spend the afternoon with little Ben, so Renee can have a little time for herself. Her pregnancy is going pretty well. She's at that point that it is tough to get comfortable to get to sleep. We are looking forward to the new baby that is due in February. We are delighted that it is a girl.
Renee, has decided to decorate the new baby's girl's room in "Princess". A friend of hers is giving them a white crib with pastel colored bars, so she is going to work around that. She mentioned turning it into a canopy crib putting a net over the top. I am sure it will be darling, if they do anything like they've done for Ben's room, where Kevin painted red, black and pewter stripes on the wall, and it is all done up in the theme of the Tampa Bay Bucs. It is so cute!
My book that I ordered came in the mail and is just begging me to read it, so hopefully this weekend I will try to have some time. It is "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers. You all have raved so much about this book I just had to get it! lol
So it's just the two of us hoping if you live in the midwest that you stay safe and warm with that blizzard coming, and that all of you make a little time to just be silly and have a little fun!
Life is Special With a Big Mouth Bass
This picture of the kittens reminds me of when just the two of us were first dating, and Dennis would get too handsy or touchy feely, I would make him sit across the table from me when we were in a restaurant. Well, he quickly discovered he could wrap his legs around mine, and then he would say, "everytime I wrap my legs around yours, it means I love you"...
Had just oodles of fun with Kevin, Renee and little Ben, our 10 mo. old Grand baby. We were going to treat them to dinner and they insisted on paying for us. This was a switch-o-roo. lol Never the less, we went to our newly remodeled and up scaled Golden Coral restaurant. The food was delicious and we all enjoyed a lighthearted conversation. Kevin ribbed his Dad about beating him in Fantasy football, and we all got tickled at Ben playing and flirting with some small children at a nearby table in the restaurant, all while Renee was trying to spoon feed him.
Upon leaving, we talked them into going over to GGpa and GGma's house. They had just got in from the long drive down from Wisconsin, about a 20 hour drive the night before, around 10:00 pm. I guess for a while, when the folks first got in, they thought they might have to spend the first evening with us, but after some finagling with the lock and key they managed to get inside.
The main reason we all stopped by tonight, was to give them both great big old welcome hugs and kisses! Secondly, they needed a little help getting their laptop hooked up and who better to do that than Kevin and I. Okay, maybe Kevin played a little bigger role, as he had to call his company and put in a special request and bat ta bing~ bat ta bomb, instant connection! It pays to have a son with special zapping powers! He is a supervisor with the local cable company. lol
We all were fabulously entertained by little Ben. He had us all in stitches! He lit up like a light bulb around GGma. Giggle giggle and play peek-a-boo with the "blanky". The funniest thing he did though involved a rubber looking Big Mouth Billy Bass fish that GGpa has hanging over his computer desk. I inquired as to whether or not the fish still worked, and GGpa, was rather doubtful. He was sure the batteries had probably lost their juice. Well, the
energizer bunny was still going...That Big Mouth Bass curled around from the wall and started singing in a deep voice, "Don't Worry, Be Happy"! Little Ben perked right up and was completely enthralled with it, glancing around the room at us occasionally in hopes of being reassured it was okay. He was mesmerized by it, and it was as if we were all the little guppy's and Ben was Nemo, the bravest little fish in the sea. GGpa was immediately little Ben's A-okay guy, he gave him a look of new respect. GGpa made a Big Mouth Bass sing! It was precious! If only I had my blogging camera!
We all had so much fun that GGpa and GGma are taking all of us out to Cody's Steak house tomorrow evening. I will be late as my contractor and plumber are doing some work for me at the rental property. So hopefully, my prime rib won't get too cold. It is sure good to be around family!
Just the two of us drove home with that wonderful blessed to be alive feeling, and we hope you all have someone in your lives that make your heart sing, as life is so special!
Moving Forward and A Little Holiday Cheer
Burrrr! This Floridian girl is freezing! Woke up this morning around 5:30 am to take my dog, Shivan, outside and it's a wonder I was able to make it back inside. I was chilled to the bone. hehe! The weatherman said our temps dropped 24 degrees from the day before at this same time. Why it was just 92 degrees Sunday! So to go from that, to stepping outside barefoot in 50 degree weather was unbelievable.
Had a fun little outing with our son Terrence and his girlfriend, Jenny. They called and asked if they could drop by and after a little hesitation, I said, "sure, what time will you be here"? Terry says "two minutes". I gulped, quickly hung up and scanned the room quickly and was pleased that it didn't look too bad, there are days when it can look really bad with the way my schedule has been. So I quick gathered up the pile of papers on the kitchen table and threw them in the pantry. hehe! The few things on the counter, I scooped in the drawer. Wallah!
My hubby met us at Cheddars restaurant and we had a lovely time. She seems to be a nice girl, with high ambitions, a good listener, sweet, personable and comes from a good family. There was just one thing that bothered me. She explained that her "old" boyfriend was living with her parents up in her old bedroom. Jenny lives in an off campus appartment, while she is going to school. I immediately asked her if her parents knew she had a "new" boyfriend...my son! Oh yes, she assured me they did, but they felt sorry for him having lost a job and so forth...well. This is very odd to me! I am eager to see how long the old boyfriend sticks around!!! Actually, I think they need to move forward, and that boy needs to go! lol
When I came home, someone in the neighborhood had left a wonderful gift basket full of cute little Halloween treats for just the two of us, on the front porch. It's a tradition in our neighborhood to leave a gift basket full of goodies for two families and then hang a boo sign on your door to let others know you have already played. You never know who gave whom, what basket, all in an effort to spread a little holiday cheer.
Kevin, Renee and little Ben are coming over this evening and we are taking them out to dinner. We are all amazed that at 10 months old, Ben is learning quite a few words, and has taken as many as 6 to 8 steps. What an adorable age!
So it's just the two of us hoping you all are staying warm and and joining in on something that is just for the fun of it, and spreading a little holiday cheer!
Halloween Swap
A couple of weeks ago I had signed up for a Halloween Swap that Pea of
Pea's Corner hosted. She drew names and matched up blogging partners. So, this weekend my partner D
onna of
Doannak's Blog who was matched up as my partner sent me a huge box of goodies! It was no trick; it was a wonderful treat!
It came wrapped up so pretty. She even included a little card!
The box had lots of bubble wrap too, that in it's self can be oh, so fun to pop! hehe!
Just look at all the little goodies! I love the huge Daddy Long Leg Spider candle holder, the ceramic Pumpkins are so cute. If you look up there above the cute card is the sweetest little green witch with orange yarn for hair... she may need a little spa treatment, a little moisturizing and pampering on the account her skin tone and hair are a bit dry.
There was so much...A little orange bear, see him in the back left corner...he may need my Dentist's n
umber. hehe! A purple wall plague with a little ghost on it. A CD with scary noises, my hubby has been replaced! hehe!
Donna, you really out did your self! I was thrilled with all of the cute and wonderful Halloween gifts. Thank you so very much!
Just the two of us worked very hard this weekend on the rental property and so I am really feeling it! hehe!
My oldest son Kevin and Renee finally got their car back. It is all fixed up after Kevin's accident. They are happy and we were all amazed it took a month to repair! What a blessing it was not totalled!
My younger son Terrence, has a girl friend now, her name is Jenny. She and he had actually gone out a couple of years ago and just got back together. She is a Senior at a local Christian University, and she has aspirations of being a Judge one day. So we are happy for them!
My Daughter Chrystal, and Dave got home safely from their trip to New Hampshire. They live in Oklahoma. They had a great time seeing her In-laws. They couldn't say enough about the abundance of fall foliage and the beauty of nature in those parts!
So, it's just the two of us hoping your days are filled with special treats!
