Just the two of us are counting our blessings...

Last Thursday, we got that terrible call that our oldest son Kevin was in a car accident. He is okay, and the other guy was at fault, having exited the post office, the other guy came outhe wrong way and Kevin couldn’t even see him coming. Kevin’s arms were burnt all the way up from the air bag, as was his chest and stomach, but other than that he is fine. He was only going 30 mph. While in the emergency room he was told the two insurance companies were fighting, even though the police report clearly named the other guy as being responsible. Our little Gbaby Ben stayed with us and was a much appreciated distraction, especially with all the teething he was doing...poor little guy.

When Kevin and Renee returned from the emergency room, it was with joyful hearts of gratitude for our dear Lord’s mercy, that we gave them both the biggest hugs we could...had to be a little more gentle with Kevin...hehe

The next day, Kevin and Renee got a call that the insurance company and the other guy was admitting fault and didn’t want Kevin and Renee to worry. So the other guy’s insurance company is going to cover everything, including a rental car.

We are eternally grateful, and praise our dear Lord, that Kevin wasn’t hurt any worse than he was, that Renee, who is pregnant and due in February wasn’t in the car, and that our little Gbaby could stay with us and keep our minds occupied. *smile* For a while, it looked like they were going to have to get legal counsel and then the other guy showed true moral character and set things right, it just renews your faith when good people do the right thing. :)

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us
an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
2 Corinthians 4:17

Just The Two of Us hope you give your loved ones an extra good little hug and are counting your blessings this beautiful day and now are you ready for some footb
all!!!...

Oh my word, God is good! So thankful he wasn't seriously injured. Something like this makes you want to hold your whole family more closely.

It's so discouraging that with what we pay for car insurance these days, the first thing every insurance company tries to do is find a way to not pay out. We haven't had to file an insurance claim in over 20 years. I'm sure we've paid thousands and thousands of dollars for car insurance in those years. And I know if someone ran a stopside and blinksided me, my insurance company would fight it tooth and nail before they paid one cent.

Anyway, I'm very thankful there were no serious injuries and the person at fault stepped up and did the right thing. Poor guy. Now HIS rates are going to go up.

Something like this can be so scary.
What a blessing that it all worked out in such a postive way...

WE just never know what a day will bring! I'm so glad it all worked out so well. God is good. When we place our loved ones in His hands every day, He faithfully watches over them.
Insurance companies can make us crazy, so I definitely see the hand of God in having it all work out so well. I hope he's feeling better soon.

Thank God your son is going to be okay, and that the other man did the right thing. How frightening, but things have truly worked out so well.

Hey, thanks for checking back in. It has been a crazy week and no time to do any writing. I have to kind of get the ideas rolling in my head so that when I sit down to the computer, it just comes easily. Thanks for asking about Robert. The surgery went well and looks like it will be successful. He is at home and recovering, in some pain, but managing. It has been such a blessing to us (and to his family) to see how our church has responded. We have had so many people who have prayed and offered support (several Sunday School classes are taking up a collection to buy him a new Playstation with a steering wheel and drive shift for Nascar 07. Robert is in a wheelchair so this is one of his few pleasures). We thank God also for people like you out in blogland who prayed for him. Keep the prayers coming! I will try to be better at keeping the posts coming!

Thanks for stopping by.

Glad to hear that the accident left your family whole and sound and just reeling a little bit. I know that your son and his wife are thankful for a wonderful grandma who sees the time with your grandchild as an opportunity.

Wow! What a wonderful story! I am so glad that everything turned out alright. I know I have said it before but I have to say it again that grandbaby is gorgeous. Can't wait to see the new addition in February.
