Baby on the Go...What's Gma to Do? myspace layouts, myspace codes, glitter graphics myspace layouts, myspace codes, glitter graphics

Lots to do today, before Kevin and Renee bring our darling little Grandbaby over to spend the evening. It's a win~ win for all of us, as they get to go on their "date" together...a nice little break for the two of them and some much needed time together. For just the two of us, it is time spent with our little Ben that we can count on every Wednesday, and it is so meaningful and precious.

So, I'm off to go s h o p p i n g ! Let me see, I want to pick up another memory SD card for my digital camera so that when I upload I don't have to go through so many pics just to get to the one I am interested in...hope this idea works.

Then I keep putting off getting the little baby safety things to secure the outlets, the cupboards, and I am going to price the babygates but I don't even let Ben out of my sight right now, and I am still in a state of protest. Where do you draw the line..."What's a Gma to do"?

After the kids got older and left home, I just and I mean just redecorated and got little cute things sat around to make our little place feel good n' cozy. :) Therefore, if I can help it, I really don't want to put all the cute stuff away again, especially with a new little Gbaby coming in February already, I feel like I might as well have an auction if I put everything away I probably won't see it for ages. It is a dilemma...what to do, what to do... Does this mean I shouldn't get that pretty white couch and love seat I always wanted. After all, nothing looks more like a coloring book to a kid than anything white. lol

Well, better go so I can get a few things done. Hopefully, I will come up with a solution that works. So , it's just the two of us hoping you all enjoy your day!

We opted not to put our cute stuff away just cause nathan was coming over. We give him a stern "no" when he gets into something he's not supposed to, and he does just fine. With the size of your house though, you all could use a baby gate or two!

Mom,

Ben is a terror, he is out to destroy every nic nac in this world so I would recommend that you have that auction and start the prices off low so you can get everything away from him. lol
But wait, he might try and hunt it down by the smell of the nic nac, so if anyone buys it "watch out".

Mom, we are running late and will have Ben by shortly after Mommy feeds him his bottle, RUnnnnNNNN!!!

I love reading Gma stories...I had a very special relationship with my own Gma, and wish my children had of had one with my mom, but alas, she wasn't all that into kids..her motto "they ought to be seen and not heard" and "send them over when they're all grown up"...well, by then, it's too late..they don't know her and she doesn't know them...but I digress...
You sound like a wonderful Gma...the kind that has no intentions of "childproofing" their home..those are the best kind!
Thanks for dropping by my site today. I enjoy new visitors, and will be back to visit again

Enjoy the time with your grandbaby! That's wonderful you're able to babysit so they can have a "date night" - all of Kayla's grandparents live out of state so we don't get to do that with them; although I know they would love to! Whenver they do come to visit they make sure we go out at least once while they are here so they can babysit :)

I would say no white couches/loveseats while they are still babies though LOL

I can't wait to have grandchildren of my own!! I hear it's a lot more fun than raising your own kids! lol I don't think I'd go with a white couch while the kiddie is still so young!

My thoughts are: what's more important, the kid or a few knick knacks. If they're precious, put them away. Otherwise, let the kid do his thing. White couch? Ouch. My cats would love that. It would show every cat hair in the world.

Actually, grandbabies are the best. Grandmas and grandpas get to love them, spoil them, love them some more, teach them, take them on outings, and be amazed at the fast pace they learn. Their unconditional love is something that you most likely didn't have time for most of the time with your own kids (too much to do and you were too tired to think about it) but now you really notice the way they look at you and touch you. It's wonderful.

Yes, I got all those babyproofing things for my house because daughter was so scared that they would electrecute themselves, or get poisoned, or cut their head open on our tile kitchen floor if they fell and would require a million stitches. None of that has happened because we were always there watching out for them. Say no a couple of times and they soon learn what they can touch and what they can't, especially if you distract them with something else.

Anyway, enjoy the grandbaby and hope you have a wonderful evening.

Thank you for stopping to visit and for the nice comment.

We didn't put anything away for the grandkids or now for our great grandson and they learned what they could touch & what to leave alone. Dylan is now 2 yrs. old and knows to play with only the toys. All children need to be watched for the hazardous things, but as far as your knick knacs, leave them out. I don't think I could go with a white couch...I'd have to watch out for me. *LOL*

Have fun with the grandbaby.

I was just thinking yesterday that when our little 5 week old Alexys (our new granddaughter) is a year and walking that I will have to raise a few things up above her little reach but I don't plan to completely reorganize my house. I love my cute things as well. I learned well I think from my Mom-in-law. She is an excellent grandma.

Take care, Cheers, Merle.

I'm one of those moms who didn't completely kid-proof the house. I did rearrange kitchen cabinets so that everything harmful was out of reach and I used outlet covers, but I did not put away my treasures. My kids learned quickly not to meddle. My older daughter would walk over to whatever caught her fancy, examine it closely (without touching it), and say "no no".

Because they'd learned to look and not touch, I never had to worry about them breaking other people's things. Made visiting gramma less stressful.
